Best Picture Books About Winter | Winter Read Alouds

The snow is finally here! Yay! I’m not sure how I feel about it. It’s cold, and icy, and I wear my winter coat 24/7. You never know what kind of winter you’re gonna get. It’s either going to be balls cold and miserable. Or it’s going to be warm and awesome. On the flip side, it’s a break from certain activities and a time to chill and rest. I just really dislike being cold. So much.

With that said, I tend to read more books since I am usually bundled in a blanket wearing the same sweatshirt and sweatpants for the next six months. I pulled out the kids’ winter books for an art project. I usually keep themed books tucked away for certain holidays, seasons, or projects. That way they are fresh and *new*.

The girls always like the old lady books. The fact that she can put all that stuff in her mouth is pretty amazing so I get it. The how to catch a… series has been a hit. E and V like to see different types of traps the kids set up. I personally think The Snowy Day is super cute and I enjoy the pictures. I think I may have an art project in the works to go along with Over and Under the Snow.
