Photo Log: Our Trip to Vancouver, Washington
It’s been a handful of years since I last visited my mom in Washington. She hasn’t met my littlest lady yet, so we were due for a visit. My youngest was born right at the beginning of the Covid pandemic so plans for my mom to visit us were postponed for a while. Then life happened and trips either way kept getting pushed back.
When I was a kid we used to go to Washington almost every summer to visit family. Most of my mom’s family lived there at the time. My mom’s brother and sister lived in the same neighborhood. It was so much fun to run through the neighborhood and hang out with our cousins. I remember picking strawberries and dipping them in sugar. 😋 So good!
When we arrived in Washington, my sister picked us up from the airport and took us to our mom’s house! Here is some of our adventure between Vancouver, Washington and Oregon!
We visited the Oregon Zoo which was such a blast! I didn’t realize how long we were there until we left. There are so many animals to see. The elephants were pretty interactive and the polar bear was swimming around. Violet got to see her favorite animal, the giraffe.
At some point we went to the Vancouver Waterfront which has a bunch of restaurants, a pier, and a splash pad. If I had known how wet they were going to get, I would have brought the girls’ bathing suits. They LOVED the splash pad. They had so much fun running through the water and playing in the intermittent waterfalls.
After dinner we went on a walk along the river. I think it is the Columbia River. They have little nooks where you can hop off the path and enjoy the view. It’s a nice little up and coming area.
My mom’s fiancé was a professional golfer and golf instructor so he took us out on the golf course and gave us a mini lesson. Jake seemed like a natural. He took to it pretty easily and now wants to take golf lessons. I liked the driving range. I just liked to hit the ball as far as possible! 😜 My golfing skills weren’t that great though.
Other than that, most of our time was spent at my aunt’s house with the family, cousins etc. or my mom’s. Oh, I did do some thrifting but I didn’t find much. Otherwise it was low key, quality time with fam. ❤️
