Book Review: Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover
Summary
Sydney finds out her boyfriend cheated on her with her roommate. She storms out of her apartment and has nowhere to go. Her hot guy neighbor Ridge offers the spare bedroom to her “temporarily”. Sydney winds up having a crush on him only to be heartbroken when she finds out Ridge has a girlfriend. Long story short, Ridge kisses Sydney. Ridge’s girlfriend, Maggie, finds out. Maggie dumps Ridge. Ridge and Sydney end up together (but I secretly hope they break up in the next book).
Thoughts while reading
17 September 2023 and onward…
Bridgette, if she were deaf… SHE STILL CAN’T HEAR YOU WHEN YOU SLOWLY BUT LOUDLY YELL AT HER.
What are the lyrics she wrote?? Okay, I’d have to hear these songs in real life because they were so so cheesy just reading them
Not a fan of Ridge’s name.
Didn’t know Ridge was deaf. Sorry Bridgette.
When is he going to tell Sydney about Maggie?
Sydney is so annoying. I cannot stand her crying. She cries all. the. time.
Oh em gee. When is Ridge going to tell Maggie he kissed Sydney!? Apparently never.
I want to gouge my eyes out with Sydney’s character… “The only thing Ridge is guilty of is not deleting messages”. Barf. And I disagree. And how can you be such a hypocrite.
Sydney literally cries for 367 pages.
Review
I was greatly disappointed in this book. I had to take an extremely long break from Colleen Hoover books but mostly romance novels in general. Sydney HIGHLY irritated me and she’s not even real. I completely disagree with her entire logic about the situation with her, Ridge, and Maggie. Props to Maggie for saying bye 👋🏻and dumping that guy. Ridge is 100% (as well as you Sydney) for the cheating incident. To take any of the responsibility away from Ridge makes no sense. These people characters are in college so their logic is irrational. I get it. I’ve totally done the same thing. I’m getting worked up again. (This isn’t real Linds 😂) Sydney is also a ginormous hypocrite and needs to grow up.
I can’t even believe this book is a series. Dare I read the others? I heard the characters are just as bad. Sydney reminds me of Claire’s daughter in the Outlander series. They are both highly irritating, always mad or crying, and getting people into worse off situations.
