Holiday Gift Guide: Christmas Prezzies for Little Big Girls
It’s that time of year again! And I thought I could get ahead of Christmas, the busy shopping, the post office lines, Amazon shipping, and thinking about what to get everyone. I forget stockings every year. Apparently October is still too late to get started. My daughter asked me if the stores skipped Thanksgiving. I said, “Yes honey, they did.” Because they are filled with Christmas.
It’s hard to come up with presents on the fly. Especially when you are trying to stay away from junk and get gifts your kids will truly love. If you have girly girls like mine who love to be fancy then these gifts might be right up your ally! Most of these prezzies my kids already have and use regularly which make them easy to recommend. The other presents are upgrades of what they already have and I think my girls (and yours!) will really like them. See what’s on the holiday gift list this year!
Binoculars
My girls love to use binoculars when they play outside. We’ve taken the binoculars on camping trips, on nature walks, to the park… and they just like to see if they can see up my nose. The ones we got came with a compass, magnifying glass, and a carry bag. I’ve adjusted these many times for the girls and the clarity is pretty good.
Razor Scooter
We had the good ol’ toddler scooter. You know the red radio flyer scooter? Well the girls are getting older and bigger so we decided to upgrade this year to a razor scooter. My youngest really likes the radio flyer while my oldest had a hard time turning on the radio flyer so she didn’t use it much. I’m hoping they’ll enjoy these as I’ve heard they are easier to scoot around.
Our Generation Dolls
So, let me just say I prefer the American Girl dolls better. However, I do not prefer the cost of the American Girl dolls. *dilemma* The 18” American Girl dolls are so spendy! I don’t really know why I prefer them over Our Generation dolls but I do. It may be the nostalgia. I never had a doll but I LOVED reading the American Girl books. The reality is, my girls don’t care where the doll comes from. They just like the cute hair and the fancy outfits. So I couldn’t do it and, dare I say, I settled with getting OG dolls. My girls each got one at their birthday. Emme got the Shelley doll with horse and Violet got Sydney Lee the ballerina. They love them to death and that’s all that matters!
Bearpaw Boots
Whenever I think of these types of boots, I can’t help but sing, “Apple bottom jeans, boots with the fur.” Inappropriate I know. I catch myself singing certain 2000s songs at the worst times. And then my kids ask me, “What song is that?” And I say, “Never mind!” And I hope they forget about it until I hear them in their playroom repeating the lyrics and I remind myself to screen my childhood pop culture. Anyways! These are great because they come in fun colors, they are warm and cozy for the winter, and they don’t cost a million dollars like Uggs.
Jewelry Box
My mom got the girls jewelry boxes last year for Christmas. They love them! They put their little treasures inside and carry them around the house to listen to the wind up music play. If you have a girly girl who loves rings, earrings, necklaces, and bracelets a jewelry box is a no brainer!
Ukulele
We got Kala Ukadelic Ukulele’s earlier this year. They’re learning to play as one of their homeschool courses. These ukulele’s come in such fun colors! They are really inexpensive beginner ukuleles. I recommend getting a clip on tuner as well. A few tidbits to know about these ukes: They go out of tune easily. A strap can be attached. The strings are plastic and stretch easily. The pegs don’t hold tuning between playing sessions.
Schleich Horse Barn
My 7 year old LOVES her horse barn. We got it “opened, but new” so it was majorly discounted. If your kiddo loves horses, this will not disappoint. Schleich has other pieces that go to their horse line like towing vehicles and extra stalls. If you already have the barn, consider getting additions for them to play!
Wool Wallet
I found the cutest wool wallets on Etsy. They are the perfect size to fit inside little kid’s purses. They are Fair Trade and handmade. What kid doesn’t love to store their cash in a cute wallet?!
Happy Holidays!
