100+ Creative Ways to Fill Up Your Kids’ Advent Calendar | Advent Calendar Filler Ideas for Kids

You can thank the Target dollar section for making filling up an advent calendar *so easy*. (Thank you Target!) However, sometimes I am even cheaper than cheap and like to spend those free dollars because an advent calendar can add up to be quite spendy (depending on what you want to put in it).

I’ve created a list of advent filler things you could purchase but also fun experience ideas that don’t cost a thing. Okay, maybe some will cost you but you’re creating memories, not filling your house with junky knick knacks.

WHAT IS AN ADVENT CALENDAR?

An advent calendar is a fun way to kick off the holiday season. It’s a countdown to Christmas. Start on Dec 1st and go all the way to Christmas Eve. Each day kids get to open a small door, package, or envelope to find a small surprise inside. You can buy an advent calendar or make your own.
